VIDEO: Ka – Iron Age (feat. Roc Marciano)

And so ends the visual cycle of Grief Pedigree, with every song now given its own video treatment by Ka himself. This album has been a big part of my year, easily one of my favorites of 2012, and I’m a little sad to see this very last one. All the videos from Grief Pedigree have played a big part in my appreciation of it: ‘Cold Facts’ was a stunning introduction to the Ka’s current work, ‘Decisions‘ demonstrated just how personal the album’s lyric’s were, ‘Summer’ made me reconsider the album in a new warmer context, and so on.

But I don’t want to think of this as an ending, rather a transition to a new chapter. Roc Marciano’s album is out soon, hopefully Ka will lend his eye to at least one video from Reloaded. And of course after that will come their collaboration as Metal Clergy, Piece Be With You (I hope that’s still the title.) Hopefully Ka will take the same approach to creating visual accompaniment for that album as he did for this one.

I wrote this piece on the visual presentation of the album: http://jucommie.blogspot.com/2012/10/ka-grief-pedigree-visuals.html

If this video and their other collaborations are any indication, Metal Clergy is going to be great.

That’s good to hear them doing a collab project.
