Very rare very secrete Squadda B digi-single with Sea Things that I completely missed last year. Pretty similar to what Squadda/MAz did with Friendzone.

Never heard this one before. Very rare very secrete early Squadda/Clams collab, recorded in 2010 I guess. Shared via twitter by MAz manager/blogger extraordinaire Walkmaster Flex.
Squadda B – Back $ellin Crack (Mixtape)

I like to think of Jesus like with giant eagles wings, and singin’ lead vocals for Lynyrd Skynyrd with like an angel band and I’m in the front row and I’m hammered drunk!

Wow /  / #kudos for ‘Moments Part 1′. More of that please. Plus, two other instrumentals I found on their soundcloud page.

Main Attrakionz – 808s & Dark Grapes II (FREE ALBUM)
Tuesday, August 16th, 2011
I’ve been a fan of the Main Attrakionz for a while now, and I’ve probably heard just about everything they’ve done in the last few years. So I can say with a fair amount of confidence – 808s & Dark Grapes II is their best release to date. Chandelier was very close, they’ve been on a roll this year in general, but this one beats all.
As per the group’s manager, the album was recorded and mastered at SWTBRDS studios, one of the group’s first ventures in making music beyond the confines of their bedrooms. The difference is noticeable. While some of their trademark lo-fi griminess was regrettably sacrificed, the polish and professionalism on display here more than make up for it. Growth and evolution is evident at every turn. In contrast to murky vocals previously buried deep within the mix, Mondre and Squadda come to the forefront with deeper focus and an intensified sense of purpose. Their lyrics are aspirational, but in a pragmatic and grounded kind of way. They don’t yearn for trappings of wealth, at least not explicitly. They’re just happy to be here, alive and doing well with their music, and they want to keep progressing.

Squadda B – Burnin’ Money

Something to end a grueling work week on a high note. Squadda hit me up with this exclusive taste of his upcoming Back Selling Crack mixtape, the cover for which is above. As per his description, the mixtape is going to feature production from southern producers who haven’t had a lot of internet/blog exposure. Based on this track I’m guessing it’s probably gonna be on the more energetic and upbeat side of things.
Shady Blaze – Rappers Ain’t $#!% Without A Producer (MIXTAPE)
Wednesday, June 15th, 2011
Shady Blaze hooks up with an all-star cast of based/post-based (buzzwordz!!!) producers to experiment with a range of styles. Squadda B, Beautiful Lou, Ryan Hemsworth, Keyboard Kid, Nem270, Yung Dree, Silky Johnson, Julian Wass, Clams Casino, L.W.H, and Shady himself all make appearances on the boards. Danny Brown and Western Tink make cameos.
Shady’s motormouth rapping remains just as consistently good here as it has been on his previous mixtapes, but the quality of production is not quite as uniform. To clarify, none of these beats are bad but some do work a lot better than others. In all fairness, it’s hard to judge the strength of individual collaborations based on so little evidence. It’s quite possible/likely that individual Shady+producer pairings that made a lesser impact here would work much better in the context of a full project. Ultimitaly, there’s not a single beatmaker on this list that I wouldn’t want to work with Shady for at least an EP.
Squadda B – I Miss Ya’ll/Focus (Prod By Friendzone)
Monday, May 23rd, 2011
Good new Squadda songs, with good production from Friendzone. I Miss Ya’ll is the better of the 2 I think, vaguely reminiscent of the Main Attrakionz/Babe Rainbow collaboration (but a little lighter in tone.) Focus is not too shabby either.
Gotta give credit on the presentation here, 2 songs packaged together like a faux-vinyl release with an actual cover is a nice touch. Especially considering how much music originating from/posted on tumblrs is barely even labeled.

Main Attrakionz – N***** On The Run Eatin EP (Presented By SteadyBloggin)
Monday, March 28th, 2011
Dense lyrics by Squadda and Mondre, dense production from Squadda and friends splitting time between weightless psychedelia and intense necksnapping freakouts, an aesthetic focused on progressive sound while never abandoning appreciation for classic foundations – everything that I like about this group neatly packaged into a new 9 track EP. Big thanks and a huge shout out to Squadda and Mondre for putting us in the mix on this one.
I want to specifically single out track 7 on the EP, ‘Sweet Memories’ . This might be my favorite Main Attrakionz semi-throwback styled song to date, I’m a huge sucker for that Ike’s Mood break. Click on the song title above to check that out.

BONUS FEATURES 1: ‘Fuck The World’ video, which visually and sonically clearly leans to the more tripped out side of their output. A snippet of this song was featured on Squadda’s recent I Smoke Because I Don’t Care About Death mixtape.
BONUS FEATURES 2: If you need an introduction/primer on Main Attrakionz go download Space Age Hustle’s Two Man Horror Film, The Main Attrakionz Compilation, which is probably the best overview of the group’s work to date.
