Nate Dogg – Nobody Does It Better

If Dre was the sound of G-Funk and Snoop was voice, then Nate Dogg was surely the harmony. Tying together lush production and smooth vocals with his rich, raspy melodies, Nate brought a defining quality to the music. Raised as a gospel singer in East Long Beach, he crashed onto the regional scene with his work on Mista Grimm’s “Indo Smoke” and Dr. Dre’s “Lil’ Ghetto Boy,” but it was his appearance alongside Warren G on “Regulate” that pushed him into the national spotlight. When Death Row Records collapsed under it’s own misdeeds, he took his talents from coast to coast, never failing to impress as the go to guy for that Californian vibe whilst giving career defining hits to the likes of Ludacris, Fabolous and 50 Cent. Many have tried to imitate him and some have even tried to snatch the crown as the king of the rap hook, but to no avail. They can come closer than close. Original they never could be.

Eminem Tribute to Proof

The song everyone thought Eminem would make as a tribute to Proof has finally been leaked, and Eminem is not happy about it. Apparently, Difficult was recorded as part of the grieving process, and was never meant to be heard by the general public. It is unfortunate that this is how we get to hear it, but it is interesting to hear even if it does sound somewhat unfinished. Although it’s probably a good thing there’s no cheesy chorus forced inbetween the verses, as I’ve never thought generic choruses ever fit with extremely personal songs.

It’s definitely nice to hear Em reminisce about one of the few positive relationships he seemed to have, as well as moments he and Proof shared together. The beat could’ve been a bit less boring, but I guess the lyrics should be the focus of a track like this anyways. I’m not sure how much I dig the track overall, but at the very least it’s something new and interesting from Eminem. Plus, it’s always difficult (for lack of a better word) to critique a person’s emotions, especially if it wasn’t meant to be released. So check it out for yourself.

Eminem Officially Sucks Balls

Wow. The verses. The hook. The “Coach Carter” aesthetics. Sweet special FX. Insane lighting. Robust emotional imagery to give a face to the redemptive yet sad lyricism. Sleeveless muscle tees. It’s almost as ill as this.

Did you ever imagine a day in which Marshall Mathers would chant such a metrosexual mantra? Is this an exercise anthem for fat, lonely, teenage girls?

I’m not afraid to take a stand………Everybody…….Come take my hand…….We’ll walk this world together….Through the storm…..Whatever weather, cold or warm…….Just letting you know that,….You’re not alone……Holla if you feel you’ve been down the same road
