I’ve mostly given up on DJ Shadow ages ago, but once in a great while he does come through with something reminiscent of his former glories. His obscure psych/soul mining is still and will always be >>>>>>>>>>> his turntablist, IDM and/or hyphy incarnations.

This song is taken from the I Gotta Rokk EP, unfortunately the rest on there don’t sound much like this one. The opening seems very similar to Pink Floyd’s ‘Wish You Were Here’.

Via URB comes some really dope videos; one interview and the other premiering two new tracks, “I Gotta Rock” and “Redeemed.” Make sure to peep the Electric Volleyball. Despite the shittiness of his last album, these videos are enough to restore the faith.

That cover pretty much says it all. While the man’s official output since the seminal Endtroducing has been… inconsistent, his DJ sets are usually on point.
