I’m not big on Statik but here he does Boldy right, with something that’s soulful and plaintive but also kinda sleazy. The song is taken from Statik’s What Goes Around album.

While we’re here, can we petition Congress to draft legislation which would require Boldy to ONLY rap on beats like this and the stuff Alchemist gives him? Serious question.

s/o to HL for the heads up on this one, dude has a great eye for random stuff I like.

Willie The Kid – Avalon Ft. Roc Marciano / Guilt

Initially I was a bit skeptical about a Willie & Bronze Nazareth collaboration since I’m not always a big fan of Bronze’s rapping. But he seems to be mostly sticking to production here and killing it on that end, and Willie continues his winning streak, so I’m in. ‘The Guilt’ finds Willie fully embracing his Wu-Affliate DNA; ‘Avalon’ has him back in fly mode, sharing space with the always dependable Roc Marci over that most famous David Axelrod sample.

A few more singles from this project are on Willie’s Soundcloud.

Both of these guys released music I’ve enjoyed tremendously this year, so this is a no-brainer. Bonus points for Bronze Nazareth giving this song a vague Wu-affiliate vibe.

TRPL BLK – Big Dick Niggas Eat Pussy Too

There’s songs about dick slaps, eating pussy, white broads with big asses, orgies, and of course eating pussy.

Roughly one half of this album is TRPL BLK doing Barry White X 2 Live Crew sex-blues-raps, and those songs are straight up magical. The other half is a bit too spastic for my taste, kinda in the same way that Side B of OLD is a bit too spastic for my taste; but it’s good if you’re into that kind of sound and still phenomenally raunchy. ‘New Pussy’, ‘Max B’ w. Danny Brown and ‘Pussy Fartin’ are my favorites from the new songs, ‘Bustos’ is classic but it’s years old by now.

The Bug – all the dark dense progressive production and murky dancehall vibes you could want, no Kanye to  at. AND a Danny Brown feature. And I don’t even really like grime like that.

It’s raining high profile collaborations today. Naturally, Sunday School 2 is the most anticipated rap release of the moment around these parts.
