A little something new from British beat wunderkind Bullion.
The A-side of the 7″ sounds a bit like a skewed version of a 60s west coast pop-psych song. I can’t tell if the vocals are in Japanese or just oddly filtered. It reminds me a bit of Koushik’s work, which is a complement.
The B-side also does a bit of time traveling, but only to the 80s. Imagine somebody messing around with an 80s pop song featuring a male vocalist (one of those slow spacious ballads), adding some harder drums and all sorts of distortion and fuzz and delay, almost akin to chopping and screwing. Then add some noises reminiscent of a space ship taking off. That’s the best way I can describe this. Seems strange on paper but it works.
