I purposely waited for the album & mixtape to drop before putting this up, there were alot of tributes but NONE can ever compare to mines. Heres the 2hr Tribute I did, no Tracklisting, Enjoy the music for what it is. , If you take this mix and try to sell it in any way shape or form, you will get sued! I miss you P. Love u brother

PF Cuttin

A really great tribute mix of rarities and new stuff from Sean Price’s close friend and long-time collaborator (he did the pre-Monkey Barz Donkey Sean Jr mixtape, all the way back in 2003). This mix was briefly up on Cuttin’s Mixlr page, but as Cuttin mentions above it was removed to allow more attention for the the newly released Songs In The Key Price mixtape and EP. Now the mix is back up, hopefully for good because it’s likely the best Sean P tribute mix out there.

Dam-Funk – Glyde 2nyte Ft. Leon Sylvers III & Leon Sylvers IV

Second single from Dam’s upcoming sophomore album, which I’m anticipating more than any other album slated for the end of the year.

I always enjoy hearing Dam’s collaborations with others, they make for really interesting variations on his signature style. His template is pliable in a way that allows his guests/co-conspirators to imprint their own presence onto it strongly, but without overbearing Dam’s funk je ne sais quoi.

The two non-album tracks included as ‘bonuses’ with the single demonstrate this well by juxtaposition. ‘Glyde’ is polished, it’s bounce tempered by the Sylvers’ veteran sophistication. Meanwhile ‘Haunting Me’ and”Fisticated’ are pure uncut Dam, with more punch and some frayed edges that peak through the drum programming.

MIXTAPE: White Gzus – Stackin N Mackin Vol. 3

Volume 2 is one of my favorite mixtapes of the year and I’m still undecided if Volume 3 tops it (it’s very much a contender). 3 may have the edge by sounding more polished. It feels almost like an album, more focused and better executed than the last installment. Granted, this is a more of an instinctive call than a proper assessment. But listen to the sequence of tracks 11-14 on here (my favorite part), and consider that stretch in the context of this mixtape series as a process of refinement for the group’s aesthetic and sound. This is where they really get their optimal configuration just right.

Pyramid Quince – Lean on Me / Do U 2k15

Two new-ish songs from Pyramid Quince, who’s predilection for a spacey widescreen sound makes him a solid candidate for my favorite Awful member. Do U 2k15 being a remake of a great Twista/Do Or Die summer jam definitely goes a long way too. Both songs produced by Dexter Dukarus.
