Big video for one of the best tracks on Recession Proof, which hasn’t left my car since it came out (which is more than I can say about the majority of 09′s “best”). Am I foolish for thinking that this could work as a national radio single? Either way, with hooks as infectious as this one, its going to happen for Wax eventually…
While I’m here anyone have dates for Nightmare and the Primo tape?
A-Wax continues to obliterate hooks. Verses end up in bad shape here too. This comes from Ice Meez’s Cold Game tape, which is decent enough but largely forgettable. These two work really well as a duo.
A-Wax is doubledragoning up with Sacramento’s Mally Mall for the all-Premier Preemo Jointz affair that should come out later this month. Rapping over DJ Premier beats seems like such a simple path to success…
“Bums” Bonus points to whoever names the original track first…
This is from the Recession Proof sampler that came out a few weeks before the album dropped. Drug rapz over a dope Kno/Cunninglynguists beat. If you haven’t heard Recession Proof yet, you are missing out on one of last year’s finest
Recession Proof came out today. After just a few listens this will surely end up in my “Top Whatever 2009″ list. Wax and former Ice Cube protege Gonzoe (“Land of The Skanless” still rules) deliver impressively slick flows over prodution that slaps hard (90% of the time). There are a few tough choruses and unfortunately uptempo duds, but this thing goes hard. Check out the track with 40. Great song title or the greatest song title?
New single from Recession Proof, which should be hitting stores November 10th. Both deliver with their verses. The prospect of these guys trading work over Happy Perez beats has this guy pumped. This should be solid.
