I wouldn't do it in the microwave. As it was stated before, you'll get cooked parts here and there, and your texture will just be garbage. the chicken won't even be worth eating. the best way to defrost anything is the fridge. take it out a day or two in advance. second to that would be under a stream of cold running water in the sink. don't let it sit in the water, as that is also unsanitary. whatever you do, don’t submerge the chicken in hot water, that’s pretty dangerous.
