Himself really lets loose on this one, best thing I’ve heard from him yet. The most impressive moments come when he is focused on a specific idea, see ‘Crab Nebula’ for example. There’s a clearer more defined sense of purpose here, as opposed to just playfully rhyming for the fuck of it which is the impression I got from some of his previous work. Factor in some nice beats from Froskees + guest spots from Antwon and Left Leberra, and you got a winner.

Between the lo-fi mastering and the general ‘talented but rough around the edges’ impression that I get from Antwon’s performance, ‘My Westside Horizon’ vaguely reminds me of a good recently discovered 90s demo tape. This guy made a lot of progress this year and seems to improve continuously, I wouldn’t be surprised if his name started popping up more and more around the blogs in 2012.
